Exciting News:
We Have 23 New Group Facilitators!

We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully completed our Summer Facilitator Training this past month! A total of 23 new facilitators committed to four separate training sessions, dedicating 16 hours of their personal time, to become a part of The WARM Place family.

With these additional facilitators, we can provide our support to even more grieving families and children. These new volunteers are passionate and ready to serve, and we are delighted to have them as a part of The WARM Place family!

We asked our new volunteers why they wanted to become a group facilitator. A few of them shared:
  • I wanted to become a facilitator at The WARM Place because they do amazing work in supporting kids throughout their grief journey. I personally know firsthand how important it is to have the resources to work through grief and I want to be one of those resources to help others navigate throughout that process.

  • I decided to join The WARM Place team mostly because of the death of my wife’s niece. She died of lymphoma as a child. Her brother was exactly the ‘what about remembering me’ case and her parents were and still are seriously affected. Since working as a facilitator at The WARM Place, I have seen how much a team of trained, dedicated people can do to help children and parents move forward through their grief and become a functioning family again.

  • I love children. The WARM Place Facilitator Training will enable me to express my love for these grieving children in the most effective way possible.

  • The WARM Place has held a special place in my heart since I first learned of it. It was afterwards that my granddaughter and I attended the program 11 years ago after the death of her father. I have worked with children for 25 years and wanted the opportunity to give back to a program that provided so much comfort, support, and coping skills for my granddaughter. I am blessed to have this opportunity to do so.

If you or someone you know would like to join our wonderful group of WARM Place volunteers, we have another facilitator training starting at the beginning of September!
