Volunteer Spotlight: Diane Turley

In this Volunteer Spotlight, we’re honored to highlight one of the many behind-the-scenes roles that make The WARM Place so special, our Houseparents. Diane Turley serves in this meaningful role, helping create a safe, welcoming environment for families each evening, from greeting them at the door to caring for the small details that make potluck dinner feel like home. We invite you to learn more about Diane and the story behind her connection to The WARM Place.

Tell us about yourself!

I live in Bedford with my husband. We love to cook and experiment in the kitchen, garden, and spend time at the lake with our family and friends. Thankfully, I married a man who also loves animals and we currently have a rescue pup we found running the streets of Fort Worth 11 years ago.

When did you first learn about The WARM Place and what brought you here?

Another volunteer introduced me to The WARM Place. I started volunteering as a houseparent in 2021!

What is your favorite thing about volunteering at The WARM Place?

Hands down, my favorite part of volunteering at The WARM Place are the friends I’ve made! From the kids/parents, other WARM Place volunteers, and The WARM Place staff-everyone involved makes our group nights so special!

What’s been one of your most memorable moments volunteering at The WARM Place?

Too many memorable moments to count-but if I have to choose-it would be this past December Family Night. The way everyone comes together to make these events so amazing is inspiring! I leave The WARM Place events and group nights with a smile on my face and love in my heart.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering at The WARM Place?

Do it!  Being a part of this organization is an honor and one of the greatest gifts I have in my life!

Maybe Houseparenting at The WARM Place would be a great fit for you!
