Supporting Those Impacted by the Floods in the Texas Hill Country

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country. This tragedy has touched so many lives—both near and far—and the pain is deeply felt across our community. At The WARM Place, we remain steadfast in our commitment to support grieving children and families, now more than ever, as they navigate the days ahead with heavy hearts and uncertain paths.

While we can’t take away the pain of this loss, we can walk beside those who are grieving, ensuring they are not alone. We remain committed to standing with our community and have compiled a number of resources below. These resources will live here if you need to access them at a later time. We will continue to add to this list as more resources become available.

Our hope is that these provide you with tools to walk into difficult conversations with confidence, provide peace of mind to your children and to help you through your own feelings of grief during this unimaginable time. You are not alone.

RESOURCES

Articles

One of the largest needs currently is assistance for parents on how to talk to their children about the floods and death. Navigating these difficult conversations can be challenging and please know you can always reach out to The WARM Place to talk with one of our licensed professionals if you need support.

Books

Books can be a gentle and powerful way to help children understand and process grief. Through relatable stories and characters, they offer comfort, validate emotions, and create a safe space for children to explore their feelings after the death of a loved one.

Activities

Engaging in activities—whether creative, reflective, or community-based—can play a powerful role in helping children and families process the impact of a disaster. These activities create space to express emotions, build understanding, and explore healthy ways to cope with grief and loss. In times of crisis, they offer comfort, connection, and a path toward healing.
