We’re All Nerds Here!

From slime to DIY lava lamps to mentos geysers soaring through the air – we sure got our nerd on at March family night!

As families arrived for the evening, we asked children and parents to write the name of their loved one or a message to their loved one on a paper flower and attach it to our memory frame as they walked into The WARM Place. We do this often at the start of family night events, as a reminder that though we are making new memories as a family, we still remember those that are no longer with us.

Families started their evening with a delicious dinner in the dining room, so generously donated by Feastivities here in Fort Worth. They had everything from king ranch chicken casserole, to a tasty cranberry salad, complete with a build your own taco bar!

Then, the real fun started! Children and adults were eager to enjoy the beautiful weather in the backyard for all types of science experiments! Homemade slime of every color, DIY lava lamps, pop rock expanders with balloons and soda pop, and of course mentos geysers flying to the sky! There were so many laughs and new memories made by all.

Once children washed the slime off their hands and shook the soda pop from their hair, it was time for dessert! Everyone enjoyed sweet dessert waffle treats from the Mama Lama Waffle Truck! It was the cherry on top of a perfect evening.

We are so excited to welcome families back for our next family night! Save the date for Friday, June 21st for Cheeseburgers in Paradise!

Family nights focus on making new memories as a family after a death. We invite the whole family to come together – so you can bring the baby, grandpa, and a friend. Family nights are open to past, present, and future families of The WARM Place and are always free to attend.
